Smarting from their 1-3 loss to Villeneuve in the French Premier Table Tennis League, Aruna Quadri will on Feb. 7 lead Jura Morez at home against Hennebont.
Quadri, who has been outstanding for Jura Morez this season, is expected to spearhead his team against a star-studded Hennebont side which has English international, Liam Pitchford as well as Chinese Taipei’s Chien An Chien.
A confident Quadri believes the narrow defeat they suffered away to Villeneuve would spur them at home when they host Hennebont.
In their first meeting away yo Hennebont, it was Quadri that led Jura Morez to 3-1 victory.
With the return from injury of their Chinese-import – Zhen Wang, Quadri is optimistic that they can rediscover their form to put their smile of the faces of their fans at home.
“I think it was painful losing last week away because we started well against Villeneuve. It was a tensed match but I believe we have put that behind us.
“But our focus now is to ensure we maintain our place in the league and not to go down like last season where we had to play till end of the season to know our fate.
“This time around, we are stronger and hoping that we can finish among the top teams in the league this year,’’ Quadri said.
From nine league matches, Jura Morez won five and lost four to garner 19 points to occupy fifth place on the league table while their opponent – Hennebont is sixth with 18 points from same number of league matches.
Meanwhile, Aruna Quadri has been confirmed for this month’s ITTF World Tour tagged Qatar Open holding in Doha. ##
