The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has not granted an order sustaining Gov. Willie Obiano from contesting the Nov. 18 Governorship Election in Anambra.
This is contrary to the story making the rounds in sections of the social media, claiming that the Anambra State Governor had been disqualified.
One Martins Agbaso had sought an interim injunction vide an originating summons, that he filed through an Ex-parte motion.
However, Justice J.T. Tsoho of the Federal High Court granted only order on accelerated hearing on the matter, as well as right to substituted service.
In the ruling, he unequivocally declined the prayers for interim injunction.
According to him, having regard to the Affidavit evidence in support of the Plaintiff/Applicants Motion Ex-parte, dated Sept. 25, 2017 but filled on Sept. 28, 2017, refused prayers 3 and 4 –seeking interim injunction are declined.
Reacting to the Ruling, the Anambra State Legal Adviser, APGA Mr Sly Ezeokenwa said this means that Gov. Willie Obiano remained the only authentic gubernatorial candidate for APGA in the elections.
He urged other APGA faithful to disregard the antics of “the drowning opposition, who are bent on derailing the wheel of progress so far recorded by incumbent APGA led Government on Anambra state’’.
Ezeokenwa also urged members of the public to disregard “the wicked and spurious allegations being peddled in the social media’’.
