The Transition Committee Chairman, Onitsha North Local Government Area (LGA), Mr Patrick Agha Mba has praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for peaceful Nov. 18 Governorship Election.
Mr Agha Mba said this during an interview with our reporter in his office at Onitsha.
He said that the polls were the best and most peaceful election so far in the country.
The chairman applauded INEC officials for making the election transparent for the masses with exception of some polling units, where electoral materials arrived late.
Agha Mba then commended Onitsha North residents for complying with the rules and regulations of INEC.
He added that the residents overcame earlier threats by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to come out en masse to vote on Election Day.
He thanked God for allowing Gov. Willie Obiano to re-emerge as governor of Anambra State, through efforts of Ndi Anambra.
Agha Mba, then, added that this year’s election was most commendable because no violence and causalities were recorded throughout the state.
He prayed God to see Gov. Obiano through his second term.
The chairman, then, urged Ndi Anambra to exercise patience, as Obiano’s second term would favour every body and communities in the state.
