The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor says Federal Government to be more thorough in identifying those behind the Benue massacre.
According to him, there should be a change of tactics as the current tactics will not produce the desired results.
Bishop Ezeokafor, who said this during the 2018 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka, said that deploying the Police to troubled state might not yield the desired result.
“The worst is that those behind the acts have yet to be made known. What are they waiting for?”.
On the issue of grazing reserve and colony, Bishop Ezeokafor emphasised that ranching remained the only true solution to the Fulani herdsmen/farmers clash.
The prelate called for urgent re-negotiation of Nigeria, where the states should be allowed to take charge of their mineral resources to enable them to develop at their own pace.
Bishop Ezeokafor urged all to serve God and humanity, so that the labour of the past heroes would not be in vain. ##
