Obiano inaugurates monthly physical exercise for workers


Gov. Willie Obiano has inaugurated a monthly physical exercise for civil servants in the state.

The maiden edition was held on March 7, in order to assist civil servants to keep fit and improve on their productivity.

The exercise involved the entire state civil servants, including Federal Road Safety Corps and National Youth Service Corps members.

The monthly exercise, which took off from the Ministry of Sports and Youths Entrepreneurship premises, started around 7am, through Aroma Junction down to Eke-Awka Market.

Gov. Willie Obiano was represented by the Head of Service, Barr. Harry Uduh.

In a speech, the governor said the exercise was a good initiative to would enable Ndi Anambra to stay physically fit. “Wealth without health is useless’’.

The Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Sports Development, Uju Nwogu expressed delight at the initiative.

She said the exercise would help to lessen stress among Anambra civil servants as well as help them to develop their `psycho motor domain’.

Every participant of the exercise was adorned in track suits.

The exercise witnessed display by a brass band by members of NYSC. Traffic was controlled by FRSC officers while the jogging lasted.
