Eagles will soar in Russia predicts former NFF SG

A former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Secretary-General, Musa Amadu has added his voice to the growing number predicting that Super Eagles `will soar high’ in Russia.
Amadu the ex-Secretary-General who spoke to SportsDay in Abuja praised the doggedness of the Eagles team B during their match against Athletico Madrid, where the Eagles lost 2-3.
He, however, noted that the future of the Eagles would most likely be at the 2026 World Cup to be hosted by Qatar.
“It was a good game. We have a bright future and hope because these boys will take over from the present Eagles ahead of the 2026 World Cup in Qatar.
“The likes of Kelechi Nwakali, Usman Mohammed and the rest boys are good players.’’
The administrator, who sounded confident that Eagles would perform creditably in Russia, said the team would get far, if they win their first game against Croatia.
“Everything is on course; the game against Congo DRC will be very useful. We have seen the game against Poland, Serbia, next matches in England will be critical.
“I am confident, the coaches and the NFF are doing a lot to prepare the players for the World Cup.
“The most important thing, like we have seen in past editions; any time the team secures good result like a win or draw, I see Eagles go into the round of 16.
“That is why the first match against Croatia on June 16 will ginger us to go to round of 16.
“Once we qualify from the group. We take every match one game at a time. But I have high hopes that Eagles will fly in Russia,’’ he concluded. ##
