Anam (Anambra East), July 24, 2018 (MOI) UNICEF has tasked Health workers and Volunteers’ Community Mobilisers (VCMs) to collaborate in carrying out sensitisation and communication strategies.

Communication for Development Project Officer, Mrs Chineze George-Ileka tasked the various Government health programmers to strive to achieve a healthy state.

Mrs George-Ileka gave task during the monthly appraisal meeting for Health workers and VCMs, at Umueze Anam, Anambra West Local Council area of the state.

She pleaded with the workers and VCMs to work as a team, so that the aims of the programme could be achieved in the shortest possible time.

The meeting was organised by UNICEF in conjunction with the Anambra State Government.

Mrs George-Ileka, who expressed displeasure at nonchalant attitude of some health workers and VCMs in LGs, observed that government searchlight was on Anambra West.

George-Ileka said that data and results showed that Anambra West was not always impressive in various government health programmes, compared to other LGs in the state, because of the attitude of some health workers and VCMs in that area.

She urged them to step up and work for betterment of their various communities and the state in general, so as to achieve healthy Anambra State.

Earlier, a health worker in the state Ministry of Health, Dr Anieme urged them to always take their jobs seriously, noting that the searchlight of Government was on health workers.

“Government will deal decisively with any health worker, who jokes with his/her job.’’

Mrs Scholastica Okoli, a Health Educator enjoined the workers to work with the fear of God, and remain dedicated to their duties, so that the aspiration of the state on healthy Anambra would be achieved. (MOI)
