Awka, Nov. 16, 2018 (MOI) No fewer than 120 exhibitors from across the world are expected to participate in the 3rd Anambra State Trade Fair scheduled to hold from Nov. 26 to Dec. 11.
Briefing newsmen in Awka on the level of preparation for the event, Secretary, Anambra State Trade Fair Organising Committee, Mr Maurice Anolue said the event would hold at the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha.
According to him, Gov. Willie Obiano will declare the event open on Nov. 29, and will use the occasion to mark the World Food Day which will coincide with the fair’s opening ceremonies.
Anolue explained that unlike the past two editions held in 2016 and 2017 at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka that recorded 60 and 75 exhibitors, respectively, no fewer than 120 exhibitors would participate in this year’s edition.
“We are expecting 120 exhibitors for this 2-week event. We also expect visitors from across the world. In fact, we are expecting not less than 2,000 visitors on daily basis,’’ he said.
While describing trade fair as avenue to showcase products and new technologies, Anolue enjoined consumers, industrialists and marketers to visit the fair for patronages and useful business discussions with exhibitors.
“We want people to come and see what is going on especially, in the areas of innovation and small scale entrepreneurship. Exhibitors will display goods that they intend the world to know about,’’ he said.
Anolue adds: “the organisers of the event, Association of Anambra Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (AACCIMA) made adequate security arrangements to ensure safety of lives and property during the fair’’. (M0I)
