Awka, Nov. 21, 2018 (MOI) Government of Anambra State has re-stated its commitment toward attracting more security programmes to enhance safety of citizens and their property.
Gov. Willie Obiano restated the commitment, while receiving an award as the Best Governor on Security Architecture in West and Central Africa.
According to him, security has been a top priority of my administration to promote socio-economic activities in the state.
The award, which was presented to him by the African Security Watch in Banjul, The Gambia, was received on his behalf by the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke.
Presenting the Award to the governor during Monday’s State Executive Council Meeting at Government House, Awka, Dr Okeke said the ceremony was performed by the President of Gambia, Mr Adama Barrow.
He noted that the award was due to the various security measures that Gov. Obiano institutionalised in the state.
The Deputy Governor noted that International Judges commended the governor for his investment in Security, which they said had become a model for the international community. (MOI)
