Health Ministry to collaborate Environmental Ethics Safety Corp on healthy environment

Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala says his ministry will collaborate with Environmental Ethics and Safety Corp Organisation (ESCORP), on environmental health safety in the state. Dr Okpala made the call during an advocacy visit by the Environmental Ethics and Safety Corp group in his Jerome Udoji Secretariat office, Awka.

The commissioner noted that the collaborative partnership with ESCORP would play significant roles in the state through their efforts in ensuring a clean and healthy environment. You cannot be healthy in a dirty environment and this is the reason the partnership with ESCORP will help our people to imbibe clean and serene healthy environment.He commended their initiative of having an Environmental Safety Situation Room on COVID-19 in the group and assured them of his ministry’s full support in implementing and fulfilling their project.

Director, Public Health and Disease Control, Dr Uchechukwu Onyejimbe received the group on behalf of the commissioner.Leader of the group, Mr Vernacius Nwachukwu said the visit was to seek for collaboration and partnership in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.It is our desire to contribute to your efforts in fighting this scourge in our own little way.Our request is for your approval for a collaborative partnership with your ministry for the successful implementation of our project: Environmental Safety Situation Room on COVID-19 (ESSR-CD19).

As detailed in the project profile attached herewith, the overall objective of the ESSR-CD19 is to help promote citizens’ understanding, compliance with Government directives and guidelines on COVID-19.Domestication of total hygiene practice by all, to ensure public protection from the dreaded pandemic and this we hope to achieve through empirical strategies including partnerships with validated faith-based organisations,’’ he said. He praised the determined workforce on the very able manner and commitment with which the Health Ministry handled the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
