Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in collaboration with Anambra State Government rehabilitated the dilapidated road linking Ihiala, Anambra and Orlu in Imo state.
Supervisor of the Agency, Mr Hensen Kurt, said that Gov. Willie Obiano attracted the agency to Anambra to help in the maintenance and rehabilitation of bad roads.
Mr Kurt noted that the road rehabilitation was ongoing on all bad Federal roads in the state.
Mr Ikechukwu Ezenwammadu, who owns an electrical shop on the road, praised the governor for facilitating the rehabilitation of bad roads in Ihiala LGA.
“The rehabilitation is timely as it is coming at the right time, when the people need them most,’’ said Mrs Ekenem Ekwuya, who deals in confectioneries and other goods in the area.
Mr Obi Ikenazor emphasised that there was need for the Orlu road to be motorable because, “it is the major road that links Ihiala LGA to other towns in the state and beyond’’.
He commended Gov. Obiano for the good works he was doing in Ihiala LGA and the state in general. (MOI)
