Members of the Methodist Women have praised God for seeing them through the height of COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The Bishop’s wife, who doubles as President of the Women Conference in the Onitsha Diocese had noted that it was wise for this year’s conference to hold in spite of reasons given to the contrary.
According to the Bishop’s wife, Deaconess Comfort Onugha it is not easy for the women to accept to hold this year’s conference because of the low level of finance available for them to support the event.`I, however, made them to see reasons why the event will have to hold.’’
She said that the conference was an annual feature that she thought ought to hold, at least, if for anything else, but for those poor people and the orphanage homes that receive help from the conference annually.
“We have never disappointed them in the past and we should not now. They need us most now for those conference materials donated by the women to them,’’ she said.
The deaconess expressed her gratitude to God on seeing how and what the women finally brought for the conference and thanked them for their support.
She said that she was surprised that the women from different Cathedrals, circuits and sections under the Onitsha Diocese donated even more than in previous years.
The materials were shared among the widows, orphanage homes and the less privileged as well as those serving terms in the prisons.
She prayed that the women would not lack anything for assisting the less privileged.
