Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Solid Minerals and Energy, Mrs Sally Mbanefo has commended Governing Council of Anambra State Polytechnic (ANSPOLY) Mgbakwu over effort at turning the institution into world-class facility.
She made the remark while welcoming the Council members led by its Chairman, Prof C P Omaliko to her office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
“It is commendable to see your untiring efforts at turning this into world-class learning and research facility.’’
She said the Government was not leaving any stones unturned in its drive for full accreditation of the institution and its courses by the National Board for Tertiary Education (NBTE) Accreditation Board.
Your cooperation with the Government in the move to accredit the Polytechnic and its courses, enrollment in TETfund interventions, JAMB enlistment and installing infrastructure in the institution.
“Only, then, shall we reach the zenith of our aspiration to lift the school into world-class institution.’’
Mrs Mbanefo urged the management to ensure that COVID-19 pandemic prevention protocols were in place in the institution in readiness for phased reopening of the schools for students.
Earlier, Prof Omaliko said that the reason for the visit was to officially welcome the commissioner to ANSPOLY as a member of council.
He said that the Government’s decision in making both the Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Tertiary Education statutory members of the council were ways to fast-track growth and development of the young Polytechnic.
