Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has been commended for various developmental strives in the state, especially in areas of security, human capital development and infrastructure.
Chief Norbert Obi, state APGA Chairman made the commendation on Nov, 20 at Umueze-Anam, when he led a state Working Committee of APGA on a visit to Anambra West in continuation of Local Government (LG) tour.
The chairman was represented by Sir Theophilus Nnoli and other state executive committee members, applauded the state Executive Council for its purposeful leadership, which opened up the state and made it the envy of others.
Obi, who described APGA as the only party with a political structure in the state, saying, the visit was aimed at reaching the doorsteps of the people about the many achievements of the Government.
“The visit is to bring to the notice of the people and doubters about the achievements of our hardworking Gov. Obiano.
“This is also to remind the party faithful at the Local Government Areas (LGAs) that there is purposeful project and need for continuity and ways to promote the image of the party.’’
He listed some of the achievements to include enviable security system, rural electrification, “N20 million Community Choose Your Project Initiative’’, Anambra State International Cargo Airport.
Others are the Iyiora – Mmiata – Nzam bridges, three interchange flyovers in Awka, prompt payment of Workers’ salaries including pensioners and the International Conference Centre, Awka.
He, then, urged the party stalwarts across the LGAs to be mindful of continuation of these developmental strides of APGA Government in the state and be conscious of them.
In his speech, Member representing Anambra West Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Mr Patrick Obalum Udoba thanked the state exco for the visit, noting that it would energise the people to show more commitment.
The lawmaker assured Ndi Anambra West that all major projects in the LGA, especially Mmiata-Nzam would be completed by Gov. Obiano before the expiration of his tenure.
He appealed for patience, urging party faithful to remain confident in the current Government to entrench the dividends of democracy across the state.
Earlier in his remark, the Transition Committee Chairman Anambra West LGA, Mr Sylvester Orji-Okafor extolled the achievements of the Government, which he said were there for everyone to see.
He assured the state leadership of APGA, that having done it in 2015 and 2019, that 2021 would be another victory for APGA.
He praised the party loyalists for being consistent, while appealing for more commitments toward ensuring victory for the party in 2021.
Commissioner for Lands, Mr Bonaventure Enemali noted that the visit was to intimate Ndi Anambra West about the great achievements of Gov. Obiano.
He said that the APGA Government under Gov. Obiano had done more for Ndi Anambra and would continue to do more within the remaining period left of the administration.
