Chris, Clara Ezike Foundation pays NECO, JAMB fees of 45 Students of Community High School, Ogboji

Chris and Clara Ezike Foundation has presented a cheque for N1m to the management of Community High School, Ogboji.

The amount is for the settlement of National Examination Council NECO and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination fees of no fewer than 45 students in exams class.At a brief ceremony performed on May 7 at the staff members’ office of Community High School, Ogboji, the Director/CEO Chris and Clara Ezike Foundation, retired AIG Chris Ezike was represented by Prince SN Uchendu.

A letter addressed to the principal of the school, it said that the humanitarian gesture was aimed at stimulating hard work, commitment and excellence from the students and mitigating the challenges and burden of educational financing by parents.

He also noted that further assistance to the school would be based on good performance at the end of examination and also requested the school to forward the results of the examination to Chris and Clara Ezike Foundation when they would be released by NECO and JAMB.

Earlier in an opening remark, the CTC Chairman, Ogboji Town Union, Sir Obi Okoli, flanked by the Woman leader and Youth executive of Ogboji Town Union said that the union was invited to witness the benevolence of an illustrious son of Ogboji.

He extolled the benevolent spirit of AIG Ezike and his wife Clara describing it as unprecedented in the history of the town.

Sir Okoli, then, urged the students to take advantage of the opportunity by studying hard in order to reciprocate the same in their results.

The Acting Principal of the school, Mrs Janet Ijeoma Ukora was full of praises to Chris and Clara Ezike Foundation.

She said that the school benefited immensely from the foundation, noting that for three consecutive years, the foundation had continued to pay for the West African Examination Council (WAEC), NECO and JAMB fees for the students.

She commended the foundation for building and equipping the school’s science laboratory.

One of the beneficiaries and a student of the school, Miss Chinagorom Mgbeji from Ebonyi State said that they were proud of the Foundation.

She said a burden was lifted off their parents, promising that they would reciprocate by studying hard in order come out with good results, praying to God to guide and protect AIG Ezike and his wife.

The Woman Leader of the Town Union, Mrs Uju Nwokoye described AIG Ezike as a god-send to the community.

She urged the students to take maximum advantage of the opportunity by excelling in their exams so that others could also benefit too.

The Youth Leader of Ogboji Town Union, Chief Nwike Okeke represented by Vice-President, Mr Ogonna Uchendu described AIG Ezike as “an eye with which Ogboji town sees’’.

The mother of the benefactor, Mrs Mabel Ezike said that such opportunities were rare to find during their youthful days. Part of the highlights of the ceremony includes a symbolic handing over of the cheques to the principal of the school.
