Abagana Monarch celebrates New Yam festival in style

Abagana (Njikoka LGA), Aug. 26, 2021 (MOI) Traditional ruler of Abagana, Igwe Mbamalu Okeke has hailed the administration of Gov. Willie Obiano “as purposeful and full of accomplishments’’.
Igwe Okeke gave the indication while performing his traditional New Yam Festival in Abagana.
He acknowledged the giant strides made by the Government in all sectors of economy.
“The 30th anniversary of the state will be a worthy celebration, judging from the legacy projects being delivered by the administration.
The monarch expressed his delight at the assessment of the Inspector General of Police that the state was the “safest in Nigeria’’, and expected the citizenry to support the Government.
Igwe Okeke noted that the Igbo tradition, which was largely demonstrated in the celebration of the yam to be upheld to promote the culture and tradition.
In a remark, the transition committee chairman for Njikoka Local Government Area (LGA), Mr George Ozor venerated yam and used the forum to felicitate with Igwe Okeke on his annual celebration as a promotion of Igbo tradition.
A prominent son of Abagana Chief Obi Anakwenze paid glowing tribute to Igwe Okeke for restoring peace to Abagana Community and for the promotion of the Igbo Tradition that his reign had placed a high premium on.
One of the directors in the Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue and a lawyer, Dr Joe Onuoha felicitated with Igwe Okeke, wishing him a more fruitful reign ahead.
Others who felicitated with him include a retired Air vice Marshall, Chiefs Ben Chiobi, Peter Beluolisa and Ugochukwu Ezekwueche (MOI)
