Chlorine gas has been released in UK aquatic center

A chlorine gas leak forced the evacuation of London’s former Olympics aquatic center, with medics treating many individuals on site for breathing difficulties, officers said Wed.

“Due to a chemical action a high amount of halogen gas was discharged,” the London fire Brigade said in a statement.

It said around two hundred people were evacuated from the facility, in the east of the capital. It asked residents in the area to close their doors and windows while the site was vented.
