The answer is yes to fight and strategize.
First, the Russian Army is not as formidable everyone thought. They are poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly motivated. They underestimated the Ukrainians.
Second, Ukraine has done much more than people thought. Most of their men are fighting and some of their women. Many are farmers and know how to use weapons. They are being trained by some of NATO’s finest. They are getting the most up to date armament except planes. The intelligence they are receiving is much better than the Russians.
They are fighting for their home and lives. They remember 1921–22. 1932–44. And 1946 when millions of Ukrainians were intentionally starved to death by Stalin. They want no part of Putin and his government.
