U.S. Secretary of State Mark Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin are expected to make a trip to Kyiv on Sunday and hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the Ukrainian leader said on saturday.
He told a news conference in Kyiv that he would discuss the kinds of weapons that Ukraine has to battle Russia’s invasion.
Russia missiles hit odesa on Saturday, killing at least five people, an adviser to Ukraine’s president confirmed. In besieged Mariupol, the Russian military “thwarted” a planned evacuation effort, according to an aide to the mayor of the city.
It was in a press conference that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference that US Secretary of state Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin would visit Kyiv on Sunday to discuss military assistance.
US officials are yet to confirm the visit.
