Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has advised members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra not to squander their votes on former state governor Peter Obi, whom he claimed, lacked the capacity to win the presidential election.
The governor said this during a visit to state delegates as part of his discussions ahead of the opposition party’s primaries on Saturday.
Governor wike said in his address “I didn’t come here to teach you about economy of Nigeria, that’s theory and not for people like you here, it doesn’t work that way”.
Former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi is one of the presidential aspirants vying for the PDP ticket at the primary election slated for May 29.
Wike Also said “No sentiment should be brought in. Of all the aspirants, who can withstand APC in this election? Whether the person is from Anambra, Sokoto, or Imo, look at all of us, who can withstand APC in this election? It is me!”
“Let’s ask aspirants what they have been doing in their lives, where they have worked. I have been involved in the corporate world, I didn’t owe any salary, gratuity, or any contractor when I left office as Anambra State governor for eight years and nothing got missing. We need to cut down on our cost of governance.”
Recall that Peter Obi who made a call at a meeting with the party stakeholders in Owerri, Imo State on thursday, urged the people who would be picked among the delegates to consider the future of their children and those unborn during the exercise.
