There is confusion over the release of autopsy report of late popular gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu to the police by the National Hospital.
According to findings, her case has been transferred by the police to the directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) office of the attorney General of the Federation for legal advice.
Osinachi died on Apr eight of alleged domestic violence with her husband, Peter, arrested when younger brother of the late singer rumored the matter to the police.The case was transferred from the Lugbe Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation Department the following day.
However, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command, PR Officer, Josephine Adeh, on weekday told our correspondent the autopsy report has not been released.
But she asserted that the police would seek legal advice on the matter.
Adeh said the case is serious, adding that she wouldn’t want to comment more on it.The Nation on Apr fifteen reported that the National Hospital said the autopsy report will be free only to the police.
The hospital said the autopsy wouldn’t be disclosed to the general public.
The postmortem examination was to find what killed the Ekwueme crooner.
Osinachi’s death has been allegedly linked to brutalisation by her husband.
Following her death, Osinachi’s family demanded that AN autopsy be carried out to ascertain the cause of her death.
The Public Relations Officer of National Hospital, prince Tayo Haastrup, confirmed to the nation the autopsy report has been released to the police.
Haastrup said: “The autopsy report has been released to the police. they’re with it”.
