Video and Photos : Armed robbers attack bullion van in Imo

Gunmen believed to be armed robbers have attacked a bullion van in Imo State, police authorities have said.

The robbery incident which occurred at Ogbor Nguru Nwenkwo in Aboh Mbaise Local Government along the Umuhia / Mbaise / Owerri highway caused pandemonium in the area as traders and passers – by all scampered for safety to avoid be hit by the stray bullets.

Recounting how the incident happened, Abattam explained that the bullion van was returning to Owerri after delivering money at one of the commercial banks in the local government.

Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Micheal Abattam, said the bullion van was returning after delivering money when it was ambushed by hoodlums

Mike Abbattam who confirmed the incident said :
“Sketchy information revealed that, the bullion van was returning after delivering money and was attacked by hoodlums. The driver on noticing it tried to escaped unfortunately, his vehicle capsized. No money was carted away please.”
