It’s high time Governor Abdulrazaq stopped his useless rantings, fixation on ex-Senate President — Saraki’s Aide

I think governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s handlers need to advise him to stop talking/ranting just for political correctness or the fun of it. No man in his right senses would accuse Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki of abandoning the education sector during his tenure. This is a man who established a University (KWASU) for the State.

This is a man, Saraki, who made deliberate efforts to reposition other state-owned tertiary institutions like Kwara Polytechnic, and Colleges of Education, as attested to by an opposition figure and Otoge crusader, Prof. Oba Abdulraheem in a recent viral audio.

This is a man who established the State College of Nursing, Oke-Ode. This is a man under whose administration, basic education in the State was transformed. We all can still recall the legacies of the Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi who served as the Commissioner for Education under the Saraki government. This is a man who also established the Aviation College, Ilorin, that has produced professionals for the nation’s aviation industry.

As regards salary payment, did Saraki default in paying wages of teachers and lecturers in the State? Was the Maigida administration also not keeping up with the payment of salaries to the teachers before global economic downturn set in?

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq should desist from needless rantings just to distract the attention of Kwarans from the unending failures of his administration. The same man who is accusing his predecessors of abandoning the education sector hasn’t made any significant contribution to the sector. He and his data boys are always quick to mention removal of Kwara from UBEC blacklist. Ask them what the government has done with the UBEC funds. The funds have been looted through contract inflation. There’s hardly any school renovation project awarded by Governor Abdulrazaq that its contract wasn’t inflated.

How can a government that says it’s prudent and transparent claim to have spent a whooping N360million plus on the renovation of a single school with absolutely nothing to show for it except mere changing of roofs and painting of classrooms.

Mr Abdulrazaq should better know that Kwarans are tired of his ranting and petty talks. He should face the business of governance and stop this fixation on Saraki who occupied the office he occupies today more than a decade ago. Abdulrazaq should know he’s not contesting against Saraki as the man won’t be on the ballot. He should also know that Saraki doesn’t poses any threat to his re-election but his own failure to deliver on the campaign promises he made to Kwarans.
